Early Baseball Teams

It’s always great to get old photos but even better when they have names to go with the faces! Thank you to Ruth McCallum for lending these to copy and add to the blog.

So far I haven’t found a lot of information on the history of baseball in the community and I will do some research myself for an upcoming story.

This next photo when I zoom in it looks like a baseball team from Appin (Appin is written on their shirt). A couple of the names repeat from the Alvinston team. I do not have a years for when the photo was taken.

Appin Team – Top Row, left to right: W.M.E. Carruthers, Clare McCallum, Keith Campbell, Roger Roemmele, Frank Ramey, Bruce McLean, Bill Dolbear, and Ray Douglas. Bottom Row, left to right: Russel Couch, Hughie Fletcher, Jack Dolbear, Ronald Munro, Reg Dolbear and Paul Dolbear.

If you have any information on either of these teams or corrections on spelling of any of the names, as some were a little unclear, please let me know at liana@lianarusswurm.com. I always appreciate any historical information or photos!
